Starfish Tutorials

Starfish is designed to increase college retention through better communication among students, faculty, and staff. It is an early warning and student tracking system as well as communication and scheduling system. Starfish is accessed through a link on your main Blackboard page.

All faculty are required to do the following tasks in Starfish:

  • Update your profile.
  • Complete any flag surveys that you receive from Starfish during the week the survey is available. (You will receive an email from Starfish letting you know when a flag survey is ready for you to complete.)
  • Use the Starfish system to raise flags when you have academic or personal concerns about a student.

All faculty are strongly encouraged to set up office hours using Starfish so that students can have easier access to make appointments with you.
